This isn’t a bucket list (something I just want to happen before I die). This is a growth list—an actively evolving challenge board for pushing limits, mastering new domains, and doing things I genuinely don’t know how to do yet.
This page will never be finished. Every completion is just a level-up, a prompt to add a new challenge.

Current Impossible Challenge:

Master Kubernetes for automating my next-gen home lab infrastructure.

💻 Technical & Digital Imperatives

The “Hard Mode” Build List:
  • Deploy my own truly decentralized personal cloud: (Completed Aug 2026: Nextcloud)
  • Build a high-density server from scratch (Completed Feb 2026: Asus).
  • Author a useful open-source plugin or tool that gets >1,000 active installs.
  • Contribute core code to a major open-source project (e.g., WordPress Core).
  • Transition my primary workstation to Linux for 365 days straight. (Completed over a decade ago and never going back!)
Professional Scale Challenges:
  • Build a website that comfortably handles 1 million monthly visits.
  • Master advanced network security (Target: OSCP certification).
  • Develop a custom SaaS product from concept to first paid subscriber.

🛠️ Physical & Mechanical Endeavors

Builds & Engineering:
  • Design and build my own fully off-grid recreational vehicle / mobile office.
  • Complete a frame-off vehicle restoration (something classic).
  • Fabricate a custom piece of furniture using advanced joinery and mixed materials.
  • Build my own custom mechanical keyboard, including soldering and custom programming.

👟 Human Performance & Exploration

Physical Thresholds:
  • ~~Run my first standard 5K/10K.~~ (Completed July 2024)
  • Train for and complete my first olympic-distance triathlon.
  • Learn a martial art to the equivalent of a purple belt.
  • Complete a complex, technical backpacking trek (e.g., John Muir Trail or equivalent).
Global Footprints:
  • Drive a non-American continent from coast to coast.
  • Successfully navigate a foreign city without a map or digital aid for 24 hours.
  • Visit 50 states (currently at 12).
  • Explore 20 countries.

🎸 Life, Mastery & Creative Output

  • Master an instrument (currently challenging the bass guitar).
  • Write, record, and publish an original EP.
  • Learn enough of a new language (e.g., German) to conduct a full technical conversation.
  • Read 52 books in one year (one book a week challenge).
